    The CDS examination comprises of a written examination and a Services Selection Board interview (SSB). The written examination consists of three papers, including English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The exam pattern and syllabus vary for different services.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for the CDS examination include a minimum age limit of 19 years for IMA and a maximum age limit of 24 years for AFA, of on 1st January of the year of the examination. Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognized university for all three services.

Nationality:
(i) a citizen of India
(ii) a subject of Nepal
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African nations including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the goal of settling permanently in India.

As long as a candidate falls under categories (ii) and (iii) above, they must be people.

Note – The requirement for an eligibility certificate will not apply to applicants who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
