Dehradun Military Academy (DMA) offers RIMC coaching in Dehradun for children who want to join the Rashtriya Indian Military College in Class 8. RIMC, founded in 1922, is one of India’s oldest military schools, and many of its cadets go on to try for the National Defence Academy. Getting in needs a strong written exam, a confident interview and a medical check.
We know your child is still young. That is why our classes are patient, small and well planned. Children learn Mathematics, English and General Knowledge step by step, practise speaking with confidence, and stay active through age-appropriate fitness and sports. Parents receive a progress report every month, so you always know how your child is doing.

The RIMC entrance is competitive, and most children have never sat for an exam like it. At DMA, students preparing for RIMC practise in the same format as the real papers, with weekly and monthly mock tests and regular doubt sessions. Each batch has about 40 students, so teachers notice when a child is stuck. Mentors who have worked as SSB assessors guide children for the viva-voce, and a monthly progress report keeps parents involved at every stage.
Our approach has three parts. First, written preparation: clear concepts in Mathematics, careful writing practice in English, and steady General Knowledge revision. Second, personality and interview practice, so children learn to answer questions calmly and speak in full sentences. Third, a daily routine with study hours, physical activity and sports suited to their age. Retired defence officers visit for motivational talks, which help children understand what life at a military college is really like.
Share your child’s details below and our counsellor will call you to explain the RIMC preparation programme and answer your questions.

Dehradun Military Academy is a defence-exam preparation institute led by Director Mr. Sandeep Tamta, with a city office on Ring Road, Dehradun and a residential campus near Mall Road, Mussoorie. Children preparing for RIMC get notes, practice papers, weekly and monthly mock tests and regular doubt sessions. Mentors include DIPR-qualified, retired ex-SSB assessors, and retired defence officers give guest lectures. The campus has a library, IT and science labs, a GTO ground and more than 10 sports academies, including boxing, fencing, shooting, table tennis, athletics and yoga. Separate hostels for boys and girls are looked after by ex-army male and female wardens, with 24×7 CCTV, an in-house nurse and a hospital tie-up. Students can also revise on our app, “DMA: Defence Exam Preparation”.
Young children learn best when they feel supported. At DMA, each topic is taught in simple steps and then practised through worksheets and practice papers. Weekly and monthly mock tests show where a child needs more help, and regular doubt sessions give them time to ask questions without hesitation. Mentors help children prepare for the viva-voce by practising how to introduce themselves, talk about their interests and answer general questions. Children can also revise on our e-learning app, “DMA: Defence Exam Preparation”. Every month, parents receive a progress report covering test scores, strengths and areas that need attention.
Parents choose DMA because it offers focused preparation in a safe and caring setting. Batches have about 40 students, so teachers can follow each child’s progress. Mentors include DIPR-qualified, retired ex-SSB assessors who understand how interviews work, and retired defence officers give talks that inspire children. The residential campus near Mall Road, Mussoorie has separate hostels for boys and girls, ex-army male and female wardens, 24×7 CCTV, an in-house nurse and a hospital tie-up. With more than 10 sports academies, a library and labs, children study well and also stay active. We do not promise selection, but we make sure your child is fully prepared.

RIMC looks for children who are curious, disciplined and confident, not just good at exams. Our RIMC coaching in Dehradun helps children build these habits gently. A fixed daily routine teaches time management. Morning fitness and evening sports are part of every day. Short speaking exercises, reading and discussion help shy children find their voice before the viva-voce. The routine is meant to help children practise being organised, independent and confident.

Fees depend on the course, class and hostel option; our counsellor shares the current fee structure with you.
